FIC Concludes: It’s Confirmed—Demands for Functional Carbohydrates Have Shifted

FIC 2026 has come to an end amid the reluctance of the last batch of visitors. Over the three-day exhibition, the Baolingbao booth drew even more attention than expected.

As the National Exhibition and Convention Center gradually quieted down and exhibits at the Baolingbao booth were packed away one after another, the conversations, inquiries, and requests to “add WeChat and continue our chat” live on through mobile devices.

Through multi-dimensional exchanges and interactions over these three days, we have clearly sensed one thing: the industry’s demand for functional carbohydrates has evolved.

Day 1: Crowds Upon Crowds

On the first day of the exhibition, right at 9 a.m., shortly after the booth was fully set up, the first group of visitors arrived.

“Where is allulose?” “Could you explain the low-GI segment in detail?” “Do you have application cases for human milk oligosaccharides?”

Questions came one after another. The product brochures placed on the reception desk were all given out within minutes.

Every corner of the booth was filled with people—new friends and old acquaintances alike. Visitors of different nationalities and skin colors gathered here seeking answers. There were R&D directors with their teams, procurement executives carrying formulas, and many industry peers who joked about “learning from the experts” yet ended up staying for a half-hour discussion.

Our marketing team also took time to visit peer booths, mainly to understand market needs and grasp industry trends. By the end of the day, step counts flooded the group chat: 23,000, 28,000, 32,000. Someone joked: This isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a trade show plus a workout.

Day 2: Arrive with Questions, Leave with Solutions

If Day 1 was about popularity, Day 2 was about depth.

The booth turned into a “consultation clinic”.
How to balance taste in sugar-reduction solutions? How to choose the right prebiotics? How to achieve clean labels that are both simple and stable?
These were not just questions—they were industry pain points.

One R&D professional from the baking industry stood at the booth for nearly an hour, asking about each of our six products one by one. Before leaving, he said:
“I’ve spent half a month researching online. In just one hour today, I’ve got a clear direction.”

Several clients traveled from other cities and arrived at the venue as late as 4 p.m. Their first words upon sitting down were:
“We came here on purpose just to talk face-to-face.”

That afternoon, paper cups in the pantry ran out unusually fast.

Day 3: Crowds Remain, Questions Go Deeper

We expected fewer visitors on the final day, but the booth was once again surrounded.

Some returned with new questions after unfinished conversations from the first two days. Others came recommended by peers: “The discussions at Baolingbao are in-depth—worth a visit.” Several young students, sent by their professors to tour the exhibition, sat at the booth for half an hour and filled two pages of notes.

One beverage R&D specialist squeezed in time to visit in the afternoon. After discussing application details of allulose, he pressed further for data support on low-GI solutions. Before departing, he said:
“I had two goals for this exhibition. One of them was solved right here.”

Key Takeaway in Three Days

Above all, we realized:
Visitors are no longer satisfied with knowing what products exist—they want to know how to use them, how well they perform, and how others are applying them successfully.

In three days, six solutions and six flagship products sparked countless “let’s continue this conversation later” moments, opening up exciting possibilities for future development.

FIC 2026 has concluded.
But the new friends we connected with on WeChat, the follow-up sample shipments we promised, and the agreements to “discuss in detail after you return” have only just begun.
